Research Institute for Home Care and the Council of State Home Care & Hospice Associations Announce New State Home Care Data
New sponsorship expands Institute’s existing state-level offerings to include vital Medicare Advantage data and more
Washington, DC (April 25, 2024) – The Research Institute for Home Care (the Institute) and the Council of State Home Care & Hospice Associations (the Council) are excited to announce brand new state-level home care data focused the difference between Traditional Medicare and Medicare Advantage patients and long-term trends in home health.
New state data will include patient demographics, including a breakdown of Traditional Medicare and Medicare Advantage home health users. Specific data points include: gender distribution of home health users, racial breakdown of home health users, urban-rural status of home health users, and dual eligibility of home health users. Long term state trend one pagers focus on the home health market including jobs created, payroll impact, and overall Medicare Advantage penetration rates.
“With shared goals of demonstrating the importance of care in the home now and in the future, collaborating with the Council to provide key state-level data is a natural expansion for the Institute,” said Institute Executive Director Jennifer Schiller. “We believe accessible and unbiased research and data are fundamental to providing and advocating for the future of home care.”
“Partnering with the Institute is a strategic value-add for our member associations and their state member agencies. The synergy of this relationship will help us demonstrate the true picture of Home Care and Hospice within each state, allowing policymakers to see the data firsthand and understand how changes to the program are impacting their constituents,” added Council Chair Evan Reinhardt.
These new one pagers compliment existing state one pagers published annually by the Institute. One pagers are available for each state by navigating the Institute’s interactive map here: https://researchinstituteforhomecare.org/home-health-chartbook/state-home-health-data/
